Things To Do In Cannon Beach, Oregon
One of my favorite places to visit in all of Oregon is Cannon Beach. This tiny costal town, with a population of 1,700 people is relaxing, beautiful and friendly. With over eight years of living in Oregon I have visited this spot so many times I have lost count. In today’s post I will share with you the top things to do in Cannon Beach. Why Visit Cannon Beach? One of the things I love most about Cannon Beach is how quaint it is. You will be hard pressed to find a mainstream hotel chain or a Starbucks. But if you can’t live without your Pike’s Place roast, head to…

One Day In Quebec City
Quebec City is one of those magic places that you could easily spend a week visiting. But, if you only have time to spend one day in Quebec City I can assure you that you can still cover a lot of ground. I will highlight a fun filled itinerary from one of my my favorite day trips. Before I moved out to Portland, Oregon I used to live in Vermont, my home state. I lived north of Burlington, and taking day trips to Montreal as well as Quebec City was very doable. If you are traveling from farther away you have time to spare, I suggest spending a weekend with…

The Best Places For Photos In Seattle
Seattle is a shutterbug’s dream. Taking photos in Seattle is both intriguing and magical. Maybe its the rainy fog? Maybe its the impression that the romantic comedy movie Sleepless in Seattle left on me back in the day? Or maybe its just the vibrant Pike’s Place Market and the natural beauty surrounding it. From the majestic snow capped Mt. Rainer to the waters of Elliot Bay, there is so much to love. That’s what makes taking photos in Seattle so much fun. The inspiration is around every corner. If you are thinking of taking a trip to downtown Seattle, (or staying in the neighborhoods beyond downtown), in the future let…

Things To Do In Maui, Hawaii
In October 2018 I traveled to Maui, Hawaii for the first time with my mom and had a blast. Nearly a year later I went back to Maui, but this time with my husband. I was so excited to travel with him and have him experience the beautiful beaches, food and people. The days go by so fast while on vacation, I think we can all agree on that. That’s why I decided to write another post dedicated specifically to things to do in Maui to help give you ideas while you are planning your dream vacation. Things to do in Maui – Visit Historic Lahaina The town of Lahaina…

The Best Restaurants In Portland To Try Now
The phrase “best restaurants in Portland” is purely subjective. After all everyone has their own idea of what makes a great restaurant. For some its a combination of ambiance, service and food quality. While others will settle for a hole in the wall if they have good tater tots! (Tater tots are huge in Portland by the way). This list is compiled from my own personal opinion after living in Portland for nearly eight years. So, if you find yourself visiting Portland, you should check out one of these restaurants in between tasting the best coffee the city has to offer, exploring all the cool spots to get that instagram…

Since when can you remember a layover at any airport being the highlight of your vacation? Chances are you can’t name one. That is unless you’ve had a chance to visit terminal five at the JFK airport since it’s opening of the TWA Hotel in May 2019. I was lucky enough to visit the TWA hotel on a recent trip to NYC and was was able to explore this 1960s time capsule. TWA Hotel…It’s so much more than a hotel The TWA hotel at the JFK airport offers visitors an abundance of things to see and do. Hotel rooms can be reserved for a traditional overnight stay, but can also…

Why Shoulder Season Is The Best Time To Visit NYC
I think I have finally found the best time to visit NYC. After making treks to NYC in the summer to see a Yankees game, the fall when the leaves are crisp to view the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade as well as in the middle of the holiday season to catch a glimpse of Rockefeller Center, I feel I have experienced some of the of the busiest and most expensive times of the year in NYC. But, when I think back on all my trips to New York, I can’t help but think the best time to visit NYC might just be shoulder season. That’s right, shoulder season. In fact,…

How To Afford Any Vacation. Yes, I mean ANY.
Getting away on vacation is one of the best things we can do for our souls. Exploring a new place, relaxing on a beach and simply changing your daily routine can reduce stress and boost happiness. In this post I will show you how to afford any vacation. It just comes with some strategic planning and saving. In fact an article published on Inc. highlights a study by the American Psychological Association which concluded that people who take time away from their jobs and daily routines to go on vacation show a significant reduction in stress. But, affording that getaway can be the hurdle that stops a vacation from being…

Functional and Fashionable Travel Accessories
Have you ever been on a trip, mid layover in an airport, you look around and see those people that have it all together? You know what I’m talking about, the people that have the best travel accessories. They are wearing beautiful clothes, cool shoes, and even have hair that is still in place from their first leg of their journey. Well, I have. Then I look at myself and think, what am I doing wrong? Often times when traveling, especially on long trips we (myself included) want to be comfortable. Which usually means throwing on a cozy sweatshirt and in some cases (gasp) pajama pants. The thing is, I have…

Where to View the Macy’s Day Parade, New York City
Watching the Macy’s Day parade in New York in New York city is a Thanksgiving tradition. Over the years I can remember waking up on Thanksgiving mornings and watching the parade on TV. The parade played as a nice backdrop while I helped my mom prepare a Thanksgiving feast. I love watching the marching bands, broadway musicals perform a song and catching a glimpse of Santa at the end. I had always wanted to watch to the parade in person. In 2006 That dream was realized for the first time. Since then, I have gone back to New York city once more to see the Macy’s Day Parade. If you…
