Making homemade salad dressing is so easy, creative and healthy. I exclusively make homemade salad dressings and haven’t bought bottled salad dressing from the store in a long time.
Not only is it healthier, (think no preservatives, food coloring, or long strange ingredient names that you can’t even pronounce) but in my opinion it tastes better.

This recipe I am sharing with you today is so easy to make. I have a salad with dinner almost every night and make this simple salad dressing recipe.
I’m not exactly sure how to categorize it because it is not a vinaigrette, nor is it “Italian”. It’s simply an olive oil base mixed with lemon, thyme, salt and pepper. But, no matter what you want to call it, I call it delicious!
Pour 3/4 a cup of olive oil into a bowl.
Add the salt, pepper and thyme.
Squeeze the juice of a half a lemon into the olive oil.
Mix altogether with a whisk and serve immediately.
- 3/4 cup of olive oil
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1/2 tsp. of salt
- 1/4 tsp. of pepper
- 1 tsp. of thyme
